Our team is growing and Kongsberg Geospatial is seeking a Software Tester to join our innovative team revolutionizing air traffic services (ATS). We will be collaborating with our parent company in Norway to bring Kongsberg’s cutting-edge Remote Towers Solutions technology to Canada to support the NAV CANADA DAATS program. These digital towers replace traditional air traffic control towers with high-definition cameras, sensors, and communication technologies to allow air traffic controllers to manage airport operations from a remote operating centre. The successful candidate will drive testing within the DAATS software team and will be responsible for executing Kongsberg Geospatial test processes as well as help grow our software testing capabilities.

This is a hybrid position working out of our Ottawa, Ontario office that may require at times to be on site 5 days a week.

Duties include

• Responsible for all levels of software testing
• Design, develop and execute automation / manual scripts for web and native client applications.
• Verification testing for new releases of software.
• Creating, updating and executing test procedures.
• Troubleshoot and report defects as well as verifying fixes for defects. Document and report issues in an efficient, complete, and informative manner.
• Collaborate closely with other team members for the software team.
• Apply quality engineering principals throughout the program lifecycle.
• Draft, develop and maintain test cases.
• Execute test cases and author test case reports.
• Follow up on and verify correction of bugs

You have

• A Canadian security clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
• A post-secondary degree in a field related to Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of previous experience in a software testing role.
• Experience with one or more programing languages
• Experience using automation test tools.
• Experience testing software in a containerized environment (Docker).
• Experience using Linux and Windows environments.
• Knowledge of repositories such as Git or BitBucket.
• Experience using JIRA and Azure DevOps
• Knowledge of software development practices, methodologies, tools and technologies.
• Good internal and external communications and writing skills.
• Highly organized and methodical.
• Ability to learn quickly and to work in a fast-paced environment.

It will be great if you have….

Experience in some or all of the following areas:

• Experience testing software for military/aerospace applications and knowledge of related standards.
• Knowledge of geospatial display software.
• Knowledge of air traffic services.
