Kongsberg Geospatial released the following statement with regard to the company’s ongoing response to the COVID-19 outbreak in Canada.
At Kongsberg Geospatial, the safety and well-being of our employees and our customers is always our highest concern. We are closely monitoring the Coronavirus situation and taking proactive steps to keep our communities safe and operational.
Safeguarding Our Employees
We are in continuous communication with our employees. We provide information about the virus, updates on the current situation and on how to access community medical information, testing and emergency health care.
Our company response to the outbreak includes restricting travel, and providing employees with support and software tools so they can work from home collaborate virtually with their peers through real-time collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams. For those employees who do still need to physically work from our offices, we are providing robust cleaning practices for any surfaces that could possibly transfer the virus, including countertops, door handles, and light switches.
We have instituted procedures for self-isolation, communication, and support in preparation should employees fall ill.
Aligning with Canada’s Public Health Response
Kongsberg Geospatial has instituted business Continuity Plans to ensure the continuation of business over the coming months. We are closely monitoring updates from WHO (World Health Organization), Health Canada, Ottawa Public Health(OPH) other relevant sources regarding COVID-19, and we are following the advice and guidelines set by the Ontario Ministry of Health on and ongoing basis.
Company president Ranald McGillis made the following statement: “We don’t know how long the fallout from this epidemic will last. However, we are dedicated to safeguarding our employees and supporting our customers for the duration of this crisis, and to maintaining business as usual as much as possible during this demanding time.”
